Sleeveprint: Fighting for Freedom South-East Asia 1940-45
In September 1940 Imperial Japan invaded French Indochina and the South-East Asia campaign of World War Two commenced, ending on VJ Day 15 August 1945. Battles raged across Hong Kong and mainland China, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaya and Burma on the border with India.
Our design features the Burma Star campaign medal awarded to all British and Commonwealth troops who fought in the Burma campaign 1941-45 which proved so crucial not only for the defence of India from invasion but the eventual retreat and defeat of Japanese forces in the region.
