Joan Miró is not best known as a 'political' artist but as with cultural figures today and Palestine, he was moved by a cause to contribute his art in solidarity.
Originally designed as a French postage stamp, hence the 1fr, but never released, Miro produced it as a poster which became an iconic image of solidarity with the Spanish Republic.
