Our 'Born in the NHS' shirt finally unbanned
|
When Coronavirus struck, our Born in the NHS t-shirt became an immediate fundraiser. We raised £6,150 to provide PPE, free meals and care packages for NHS staff. But then Matt Hancock banned the shirt
Today we're delighted to say it is unbanned, just in time to raise funds for NHS workers doing such an outstanding job with the vaccination programme.

We donate all profits from every other shirt sold too
Despite the ban, our fundraising has continued through the pandemic, raising £8,186 for food banks. Today we swing back into action for NHS key workers just when they deserve our support the most.
No discount offer this week instead until midnight Thursday we will donate all profits from any shirt sold to the fundraising. Is there a better reason to treat yourself?

Half-time score - Philosophy Football 1 Matt Hancock 0
|
The case against Philosophy Football was based on 'infringement of NHS copyright.' We fully support the defence of the NHS identity, especially against privatisation, outsourcing, 'track and trace', profiteers and highly paid advisers.
When our use of the NHS logo was first raised we pointed out how not only do these companies profit by its use, but there are thousands of products available using the logo, the vast majority not doing any fundraising.
|
|
Nevertheless we complied, withdrew the shirt and appealed against a policy that is unenforced. Conservative Party MP and ex-nurse Maria Caulfield has been outstanding in supporting us. And in February the Department of Health and Social Care finally recognised our case was a just cause and we've now signed a unique 'copyright and trade mark licence' with Matt Hancock!
But this licence we first applied for last July will expire in just six weeks time, 31st March 2021. We asked it be extended to 31st March 2022 but were refused. So we are again appealing and hope that by our actions in this very short time-frame we can secure it's extension. As the deadline approaches all support with this much appreciated, details how nearer the time.
Local NHS key worker fundraising makes a difference
|
We are based in two small towns, Harwich and Lewes. We want to make a difference locally, responding to NHS key worker needs and see the results.
We provided our local hospital's staff with free meals on a Sunday when their canteen was shut. One example of how we've made a diference.
At checkout you will have the opportunity to 'top up' our company donation with an additional donation of your own. If you can please do, thanks.

NEXT WEEK Steve Bell marks lockdown's first anniversary
23rd March 2020 was when this nightmare properly began, with Boris Johnson's first lockdown. Steve Bell marks the anniversary of twelve months of government by lethal incompetence, in a way only he can, with a limited edition mug and framed print.
