T-34 Tank Outline, message on turret reads 'To Berlin' / Sleeveprint : Fighting Fascism 1943-2013
In 1943 on land, sea and air the tide turned against Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. Our Battle of Kursk T-shirt features in outline the Soviet tank, the T-34, so crucial to this the biggest of all tank battles in WW2, and widely regarded as the most effective, efficient and influential design of WW2. The Battle of Kursk lasted from 5 July and 23 August 1943, almost 3 million soldiers from both sides were engaged, 8,000 tanks, 36,000 artillery pieces and 5,000 aircraft. The Red Army victory was at an enormous cost, but even more so for the defeated Nazis. It meant that from this point on no further German offensive would prove possible on Soviet territory. The bloody retreat to Berlin had begun.
