Sleeveprint: D-Day against Fascism 6 June 1944
6th June 1944, D-Day and the beginning of the end for the Nazi occupation of western and northern Europe. The long-awaited second front is opened with the Allied landings on the Normandy beaches. Since France fell to Hitler in 1940 the French Resistance had fought an ongoing campaign against both the occupying German forces and the collaborationist Vichy regime. Ahead of D-Day French fighters with British and American support were parachuted into all regions north of the Loire river to provide intelligence reports on enemy troop positions, numbers, equipment and movements. 'Operation Sussex' provided vital information towards Allied success. Our design is based on the operation's striking crest. Full information on 'Operation Sussex' from here. 6 June 1944, a day against fascism, then , now and for ever.
