22 October 1936, by decree of the Spanish Republic, the International Brigades were formed. Some 32,000 'Volunteers for Liberty' from more than 50 countries went to Spain to join the Republic's epic battle for land and freedom versus Fascism. Our design is based on a cap badge from the period featuring the Internaonal Brigade's iconic three-poitned star and 'Voluntarios de la Libertad'.
